Jean-Nicolas Senzig Birth Certificate
He was always called Nick Senzig. This and the Red Star ship transport show his name as Johann, and the English translation below gives it as John. In the text, just above the smudge, it is Jean. Also of note, three mentions of Muller (mother, witness, and large signature on the very bottom) are all translated as Mueller. We suspect this is why it was always thought to be Mueller by the American descendants. The copy with the tape smudges (1st) below, was copied from the book of records of the village and carried by the family to the US. Below that is the English translation, always kept with this copy, and the last is the photocopy of the record book of the village.
